Breaking: One dead as Customs, Rice smugglers clash in Ogun
A rice smuggler has been allegedly shot deadalong Siun-Sagamu-Abeokuta road on Wednesday after a hot chase from operatives ofthe Nigerian Customs Service.Reports not yet confirmed indicate that the smuggler was running away from the operatives after sitting them from afar.The report said the operatives chased the smuggler to a location around Kobape area of the road where he was shot dead.Unconfirmed reports saythe operatives of the NCS had pursued the alleged rice smugglers toa certain point along the road around Kobape when the tragic event occurred.However, confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “The area commanders of Sagamu and Abeokuta, the Divisional Police Officer, Owode-Egba and other police officers are now on the ground to maintain peace and order.”Details soon…
